Article 1 (Definition of Terms)
  • "Exhibitor" refers to an individual, company, association, group, and so forth that has submitted an application form in order to participate in this exhibition.
  • "Exhibition" refers to MARINE TECH KOREA
  • "Organizer" refers to Gyeongsangnam-do, Changwon-si, Tongyeong-si, Sacheon-si, Gimhae-si, Geoje-si and Hadong-gun while "Supervisor" means Gyeongnam Technopark, Korea International Trade Association, PLAN-D and Imexpo
Article 2 Assignment of Booths
  • A participation agreement is concluded when an applicant fills out and submits a contract form to the Supervisor.
Article 3 Area of Exhibition
  • The Supervisor assigns a booth location according to the order of application submission, payment of fees, and the size of the booth.
  • The Supervisor may change the location of a booth if it is necessary for effective operation of the exhibition, considering the exhibition space, efficiency, and convenience of visitors. This may be done at the discretion of the Supervisor and the Exhibitor cannot claim compensation for such change.
Article 4 Management of Booths
  • The Exhibitor shall display items listed on the application form and place its staff at the booth for effective management of the place.
  • The Supervisor may remove the booth of the Exhibitor if the Exhibitor displays items not listed on the application form, if such items are irrelevant to the exhibition, or if the Exhibitor sells the items without prior approval of the Supervisor. In this case, the fees are not refunded and the Exhibitor cannot claim compensation for such removal.
  • The Supervisor may limit the access of a specific person if it is necessary for operation of the exhibition.
  • The Exhibitor shall not transfer the whole or part of the alloted exhibition area to a third party without written consent of the Supervisor.
  • The Exhibitor shall not change the original conditions of the floor, ceiling, or walls (including the painting) of an exhibition area and, if so, the Exhibitor shall compensate for such changes.
Article 5 Payment Terms
  • The Exhibitor shall pay 50% of the participation fees within 7 days from submission of the application form and the balance by Sep. 9, 2016. Fees for additional facilities shall be paid by the date specified on an invoice.
  • If the Exhibitor fails to pay the participation fees within the given period, the Supervisor may cancel the participation and, in this case, the Exhibitor cannot claim a refund of the fees.
Article 6 Cancellation
  • If the Exhibitor refuses to use an assigned booth or fails to pay the fees within a given period, the Supervisor may cancel the Exhibitor’s participation without notice and the Exhibitor cannot claim a refund of the fees.
  • If the Exhibitor cancels the participation contract, he or the entity shall send a cancellation request in writing to the supervisor 60 days before the exhibition (by July 28) but cannot claim the refund of an application fee.
  • The Exhibitor cannot cancel the participation contract after July 28 and, if a waiver of participation is still unavoidable, the Exhibitor shall pay 100% of the booth fees to the supervisor (VAT excluded).
  • * Cancellation rules: 30% of the fees to be paid in cash if cancelled after May 28, 2016; 50% of the fees to be paid in cash if cancelled after June 28, 2016; 100% of the fees to be paid in cash if cancelled after May 28, 2016
Article 7 Cancellation or Changes of the Exhibition
  • If the exhibition is cancelled due to the fault of the Organizer, the fees received shall be refunded to the Exhibitor. However, if the Exhibition is cancelled, the schedule is changed, or the scale of the event is reduced due to force majeure or other reasons not attributed to the Organizer, the fees are not refunded. In this case, the Exhibitor shall not claim compensation against the Organizer.
Article 8 Installations and Display of Exhibition Items
  • The Exhibitor shall complete placement of installations and display of exhibition items within an assigned exhibition area. If the Exhibitor needs to use the area for extra hours, he or the entity shall receive prior approval from the Supervisor and pay fees for the extra hours. Any installation should be done by a company registered with CECO.
Article 9 Removal of the Exhibition Items and Installations
  • The Exhibitor shall remove all the exhibition items and installations within a given period and if he delays the removal, any expenses arising out of such removal shall be paid to the Supervisor.
Article 10 Security, Risks, Theft and Insurances
  • The Supervisor shall take every reasonable security measures for the exhibition and visitors.
  • The Exhibitor shall be fully liable for any damage or theft which may occur to installations and exhibition items during the exhibition, installation and removal.
Article 11 Fire Prevention
  • Any installations and materials within the exhibition area should be noncombustible in accordance with the Fire Service Act.

Article 12 Additional Rules
  • The Organizer may establish additional rules not specified in the Participation Rules if such rules are necessary for the operation of the exhibition.
  • Such additional rules are considered part of the Participation Rules and the Exhibitor shall comply with them.
Article 13 Settlement of Disputes
  • If there is any dispute between the Organizer or Supervisor and the Exhibitor in connection with the interpretation of the Participation Rules, such a dispute shall be resolved by the Korea Commercial Arbitration Board and all the parties shall accept the decision of the board and shall not take legal action.
